Good Shepherd Lutheran School is in the early process of seeking accreditation through the Minnesota Non-public School Accrediting Association (MNSAA). Our goal is to have the school fully accredited by the fall of 2014. Through the process of accreditation we will be reviewing the school’s mission and philosophy, and then we will carry out a self-study to look at our school’s strengths and areas of improvement based upon standards established by MNSAA. Major standards involve the following areas: Curriculum and Instruction, Learner Performance, School Climate and Facilities, Community Relations, Personnel, Leadership and Governance. Once the self-study is completed and all needed standards (63 total items) are properly documented, a visiting team comes to our site while school is in session and validate the self-study fidnings. Once accreditated status is granted, our school will then create a 7-year strategic plan, based upon findings during the self-study and recommendations given from the visiting team, which will guide us in planning future improvements as we strive to provide the best Christian education possible.
