School Supply List (Updated June 2017)

For this coming year we plan to have separate classroom for students in Kindergarten, Grade 3, and Grade 4.  Grades 1 and 2 will be separated for a majority of the school day, but they will combine for shared activities during the middle of the day. Grades 5-6 are combined into one classroom, and Grades 7-8 are combined in another classroom.

We do have size limits for our classrooms to ensure that we maintain proper stewardship of our school’s finances and maintain an appropriate student-to-teacher ratio. Below is our policy for enrollment numbers for each classroom.

Each classroom shall not exceed the maximum sizes:

Preschool (3-year-olds)

  • 8 without an aide
  • 14 students with an aide

Preschool (4-year-olds)

  • 10 students without aide
  • 20 students with an aide

  • 16 students without an aide
  • 20 students with an aide

Grades 1-2

  • 20 students without an aide
  • 26 students with an aide

Grades 3-8

  • 26 students with or without an aide

If classroom size limits are met:

  1.  The BCD will have the authority to approve additional students with input from the principal and classroom teacher
  2.  The BCD will work to implement non-monetary measures to alleviate enrollment impact
  3.  The BCD will deny further enrollment for a classroom and create a waiting list
  4.  The BCD will prepare appropriate recommendations, as needed, to meet enrollment needs

We have not yet set the schedules for each classroom for the coming school year, but to get a better idea of how our teachers schedule a typical day or how we plan for classrooms with combined grade levels, our daily classroom schedules from this past year are listed via the link below.
