Summary: Mrs. Youmans accepted the role of Receptionist for Good Shepherd Church & School in September 2022.
Staff Role at Good Shepherd: Receptionist
Volunteer Roles: I have done volunteer work for the children’s ministry at our previous church, MOPS (mother’s group) and was a reading tutor for a local elementary school.
Favorite Bible Passage: Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “Plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” I go back to this verse often, especially in moments in life that are difficult or I’m unsure about what the future holds, to remind myself that God’s with me and His plans are good.
Why Mrs. Youman’s wanted to work at Good Shepherd: I have been a stay-at-home mom for the last 9 years raising my two sons, but with both of them in school I considered doing something outside the home to keep me busy. The opportunity to work part-time at the school seemed like a perfect scenario. I love that my hours align with my boys’ schedules and that I’m able to work in the same place where my children attend school.
Mrs. Youmans’ philosophy: Live out the Golden Rule by treating others the way you want to be treated. I’m always trying to teach my boys lessons with real-life situations and experiences, and this is one we have discussed a lot and try to follow this rule on a daily basis.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations with a concentration in Sociology.
Experience: Prior to having kids I was the production & distribution manager for a bridal publication.
Home Life: My husband and I met in college, married shortly after graduation and two years later we moved to California where we lived for 16 years. We recently moved to Minnesota to be closer to my husband’s family. We love to spend time together as a family doing popcorn & movie nights, exploring nature and visiting grandma (my mom) in Texas as often as we can.
