REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have two year-degree or equivalent in previous full-time employment.
  • Must be able to maintain the standards set by Good Shepherd’s Background Check Policy.
  • Must conduct themselves in a way that is not inconsistent with WELS values, mission, teachings, and beliefs.
  • Must obtain certifications in First Aid CPR/AED within 4 weeks of hire.
  • Should have previous experience with child care, accounting, and computer use
  • Should have effective communication skills, both verbally and in writing

DESCRIPTION:
Good Shepherd is seeking to immediately fill a part-time, Kidz Club Director position. This position will be filled by someone looking to make a positive, caring impact for children, grades Kindergarten through Grade 8, who participate in our before and after-school child care program.

We are looking for a positive-minded, proactive, efficient individual to organize and effectively execute a continually growing program within Good Shepherd’s Child Discipleship Ministry. Hours of operation are Monday – Friday with sessions from 7am-8am and 3pm – 6pm. Time outside of session hours will be required to manage the program. The Kidz Club Director must maintain child care standards set by the Minnesota Department of Human Services. A primary goal is to build professional relationships with parents; positively representing Kidz Club and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and School. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate important information with the Board of Child Discipleship (BCD) in a timely manner
  • Provide monthly ministry report to the BCD
  • Update and publish policies and procedures in the Kidz Club Handbook as appropriate, with the approval if the BCD
  • Plan and execute solo, small, and large group activities, study time, and a breakfast and snack menu for the Kidz Club program
  • Maintain an orderly and professional Kidz Club environment by enforcing standards and rules set forth in the Kidz Club Handbook
  • Promote Kidz Club to school and congregational families, including Represent Kidz Club during Open House type events to answer parent questions, hand out materials, and collect enrollment forms and pre-payments
  • Interview and recommend qualified Child Care Workers to the Board of Child Discipleship (BCD) for official approval
  • Orientate and supervise Kidz Club Aides
  • Regularly communicate with Kidz Club Aides to ensure program is running smoothly
  • Maintain updated records on attendance, payments and balances, and mail invoices and/or annual statements on a timely basis
  • Prepare and make weekly deposits

DESCRIPTION:
Good Shepherd is seeking to immediately fill a part-time, seasonal, Kidz Club Aide Closer position. This position will be filled by someone looking to make a positive, caring impact for children, grades Kindergarten through Grade 8, who participate in our pre- and post-school child care program. Hours could include Monday – Friday 7am-8am and Monday – Friday 3pm-6pm.

We are looking for a positive-minded, proactive, efficient and experienced individual to help students complete their studies and homework, and provide a fun and safety-minded environment for healthy interaction and play through crafts, organized activities and quiet time. Aides are also asked to accurately record child attendance, communicate important information with the Kidz Club Director and/or parents of children enrolled in the program, and maintain cleanliness of rooms and/or areas used for child care.

GENERAL:

  • Keep actions and communications faith-based and focused on advancement towards achieving the goals set by the Kidz Club Director and Board of Child Discipleship
  • Offer support to the Kidz Club Director
  • Assist in coverage of sessions and responsibilities during each session, as set by the Kidz Club Director
  • Additional tasks, as needed
